Welcome to our Transitional Year Residency Program at HCA Florida Blake Hospital in beautiful Bradenton, Florida.

We are an ACGME-accredited one-year program with 13 positions available per year. Some of the exciting rotations we offer include Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Ambulatory Clinic, and Internal Medicine with options for electives on services such as Trauma and Burn.

Residents also have a two-week rotation with the Quality Department to help broaden their exposure to Quality Improvement, Research, and Administrative tasks.

At HCA Florida Blake Hospital, you will receive outstanding training focused on providing quality education with knowledgeable, engaged staff. The program director will work directly with each resident to fulfill the requirements for a clinical base year in his or her chosen field.

Our program is designed to provide residents with the educational experiences needed to prepare them for the next level of post-graduate medical education training. Our program, faculty, and hospital are committed to providing a quality educational experience that will prepare our graduates for their future specialty residency programs.

We have a robust didactic program that includes morning report, daily noon conferences, as well as monthly Journal Club, M & M Conferences and Grand Rounds.

HCA Florida Blake Hospital is a Level II Trauma center and a 383 bed licensed facility with over 72,000 patients treated annually.

We have a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Heart and Valve Institute, Hyperbaric Medicine, Inpatient Rehab Unit, Complex Hand Repair, Joint Care Center, Robotic Surgery and a Sleep Disorders Center.
