I would like to welcome you to the HCA Healthcare/USF Morsani College of Medicine GME: Blake Medical Center Infectious Disease Fellowship Program. Our program received initial accreditation with commendation by the ACGME in early 2020, and we will take our first fellow in July 2021. The ID fellowship supports one new fellow per year for two years of training. The program is designed to provide fellows with a broad-based exposure to infectious diseases cases with the goal of preparing our trainees for careers as infectious diseases subspecialist.
The ID fellowship program will exist in conjunction with our fully-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program. The strength of our training program is the tremendous depth and breadth of our clinical care. Our dedicated faculty, supported by the significant resources of HCA Healthcare GME, provide our trainees with the basic and clinical knowledge, procedural skills, clinical judgment, professionalism, and interpersonal skills necessary for a successful career in infectious disease.
I am proud to be the inaugural program director for this new fellowship. I graduated from Harvard Medical School; completed residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Washington; and completed ID fellowship training at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. I have been affiliated Blake Medical Center since 2004, where I currently serve as Chief of Staff. I have also been core faculty in the Internal Medicine Residency Program since its inception at Blake Medical Center in 2015.
I invite you to consider our program to determine if it best fits your career goals. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
