Transitional Year Residency Program

Program Director

Thanks for your interest in the Transitional Year Residency Program at Blake Medical Center. Our program is approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) for thirteen residency positions, and is sponsored by our ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program. Through this partnership, we are able to provide a solid base of internal medicine training while allowing flexibility to meet individual resident needs.

Required rotations during the transitional year will include general inpatient medicine, ICU, ambulatory care, and emergency medicine. The program director will work directly with each resident to fulfill the requirements for a clinical base year in his or her chosen field. Educational opportunities include active participation in monthly journal club and morbidity and mortality conferences; as well as regularly scheduled didactic lectures, Grand Rounds, and bedside teaching rounds.

The Transitional Year program is designed to provide our residents with the educational experiences needed to prepare them for the next level of post graduate medical education training. Our program, faculty, and hospital are all committed to providing a quality educational experience that will prepare our graduates for their future specialty residency program.

Sincerely,
Scott Selph, MD
