Bradenton, FL – On Saturday, August 30th, 17 year old Bevyn Ward will step onto a playing field for the first time since an April 13th car accident that sent her to Blake’s Level II Trauma Center. The head-on collision earlier this year resulted in serious fractures to Bevyn’s foot and ankle. Bevyn attends Palmetto High School and has always had a love for playing softball. She will be escorted to the mound by Blake Medical Center’s Chief Operating Officer, Valerie Powell-Stafford. “We are very humbled to see this remarkable young woman out on the playing field again. Bevyn is an example to us all of how hard work, dedication and the life-saving skills of our Trauma Team can make such a difference in someone’s life,“ said Powell-Stafford. Bevyn will be throwing out the opening pitch for the Bradenton Marauder’s Fan Appreciation Night this Saturday, August 30th. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m.
