Bradenton, FL – Blake Medical Center has appointed Valerie Powell-Stafford, FACHE, to be its new Chief Operating Officer. In her position as COO, she will oversee all the day-to-day operations at the hospital.
Mrs. Powell-Stafford has a varied background in hospital and physician practice operations and is coming to us from Doctors Hospital of Sarasota where she was the Chief Operating Officer since 2009. She successfully developed and implemented new service lines and directly led ten clinical, ancillary, and support departments. Powell-Stafford received her master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, and her bachelor’s degree from the Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. Board certified in healthcare management as an American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Fellow, Powell-Stafford is currently Regent-At-Large and served on the Board of Governors Examination Committee and is a Member of the Western Florida Chapter of ACHE. She has also served as a board member of the Sarasota/Manatee American Heart Association.
