Bradenton, FL – Blake Medical Center’s Health & Safety Hullabaloo is being held Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 9am to 12pm. The event is part of Blake Medical Center’s commitment to promoting accident & disease prevention as well as encouraging healthier lifestyles in our community.
Participants will have the opportunity to visit more than 20 interactive booths featuring information about nutrition, fitness, health and safety. Physicians specializing in pediatrics, gynecology, cardiology, trauma, joint & spine, orthopedics, stroke, therapies and much more will be available to answer your questions.
Join us for free screenings at the event that include blood pressure, bone density, body mass index and glaucoma. You and your family can begin cultivating healthy habits by learning how to recognize or monitor important health indicators for blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose and weight as well as become more educated on accident prevention. There will also be nurses and nutritionists on-site to answer your questions.
Community partners attending include Manatee County EMS, Bradenton and West Manatee Fire Departments, Bradenton Police Department, Bayflite, Florida Highway Patrol and many more! Some of the interactive activities include:
- FHP’s Roll Over Simulator to demonstrate the importance of wearing safety belts
- Photo Ops with Bayflite Helicopter and ambulance crews that can later be viewed on Blake’s Facebook page
- Fatal Vision Goggles to demonstrate various levels of impairments and the dangers of impaired driving
- Children’s firefighter obstacle course and bicycle safety rodeo
